On our third morning in the United kingdom main city, Maria, Mike, Emily and me left our London flat for a breakfast outdoors, because we have seen a good cafe and wanted to taste the cakes and the hot cakes there. It was great and the children were very excited, because Maria informed them we will bring them to see the Wimbledon stadium and then the Arsenal Stadium. These two sports amenities are quite large, thus it took us the whole morning to reach them and make photos. In the early afternoon, after we had a snack in a small, family-focused cafe, we decided it is time to do some purchasing.

We were lucky to be in London throughout the sales and thus we managed to buy lots of things at a good price. We spend most of our time on Oxford Street, where we accessed the huge store Selfridges, the Zara and Marks & Spencer retailer stores. From Nike store we purchased a couple of pants and sport shoes for Mike and a nice sports gown for Emily.

We went back to the London holiday flat to get rid of the luggage and rest a bit. Satisfied but exhausted the kids felt asleep instantly. When they woke up we visited a great eating place in the Kensington area where we had been staying. The place was very beautifully arranged and the food was very delicious. I had a great, conventional English meal with beer, while Maria had a salad and a glass of white wine. The kids were impressed by the puddings.

Maria and I adore dancing but with the kids dance clubbing is not possible, although we knew London had a great dance scene. Thus, we assured ourselves that we will come back, just the two of us to see that other part of the UK capital, which we missed on this trip with our children.

The moment I woke up the subsequent morning, the kids were still asleep in their own place in the London apartment we have rented, as Maria was up organizing their breakfast and doing tea for us. We enjoyed a calm half an hour and talked about which spots we are to see through the day. Later the little ones got up and dressed up, enjoyed their breakfast and were at last ready to go.

On that day Maria made a decision that we ought bring the children to see some events, which might be appreciated only in London and which, as we were confident, would impress our kids for a long time. We left our London holiday flat and took the metro to reach the Buckingham Palace, where we attended the changing of the guards’ service. Mike and Emily were absolutely stunned by the foot guards with their red and black uniforms and the specific tall black helmets. The service was not short, but the kids were curious and saw it until the ending and after that did not wish to leave the Memorial of Queen Victoria, wherefrom we got the entire programme.

I went to purchase snacks and fish’n’chips for all of us, while Maria took Emily and Mike and went to the nearby Green Park where we had a modest family picnic and the kids enjoyed sitting on the grass and running with other kids that approached them.

As the afternoon was quite warm, I suggested we must move to the Hide Park and the Kensington Gardens, where is the Princess Diana Memorial and the recreation space next to it. This children area is good for children up to 12 years old. Mike and Emily especially liked the solid wood pirate vessel and were talking about it during the whole evening as we returned to our London vacation apartment.

Once my wife Melanie recommended that we should go on a holiday break in London with the children, I discovered it unusual, as London wasn’t the greatest child-friendly place which I could think of. Besides that I considered it could be too expensive. But I was wrong.

The first thing my wife made was to browse the web and to find a reasonable London apartment with great location and a reasonable price tag. The 2nd thing was to find low cost plane tickets from one of the budget airlines. When the time came, we got the kids and the baggage and headed towards the terminal. Once in London, we came to the London holiday apartment where the kids were impressed by the room they will had to share and my wife was happy for the fully equipped kitchen area in which she was able to prepare breakfast every day for the entire family.

Two hours after our appearance, Maria, the children and I were ready to go visiting sites. I could say that there is often something set up for the families with kids. The very first locations me and Maria thought of however, were the famous London Zoo and the London Aquarium. The kids were really thrilled with the animals they observed and continued talking about them as we had snacks for noon-time meal. In the late mid-day we reached our London flat exhausted, yet in great atmosphere and filled with nice thoughts.

In the evening we stopped at a compact eating place, as we assured it is available for children too and that it has a good food selection for children. The restaurant was very close to our London holiday apartment, that was very convenient as the children were exhausted and we needed to bring them back to our London apartment the moment possible. Then Maria and I had some time for us, drinking wine in the lounge zone, watching the news.

On the next morning, right after an extended and great night’s rest in the vacation Edinburgh getaway flat we’ve rented, we’d a breakfast and made a decision to explore the New Town, which like we saw on the guide was located to the north direction from the Old Town and was in fact next to it.

Maria told me we now have a lot to see in this part of the Scottish main city and I agreed. The first monument to view was the Scott Monument, which was made and arranged for the memory of Sir Walter Scot. From there we appreciated great sights above the town and made some excellent photographs. The next place to visit was the National Gallery of Scotland where we were able to view the finest fine art collections in the country. There was no admission charge whatsoever, that was good and the same was in force for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, which however we could not visit since it was shut for building work until November 2011.

Maria was starving, thus we bought fish and chips and had some relaxation at the Princes Street Gardens, that is a tiny but nicely arranged recreation area established between the Princes Street and the Castle Hills.

In the afternoon we went up the Calton Hill and after that we went shopping along the Princes Street, the George Street and the Broughton Street.

As this particular day was completely committed on the New Town, in the evening hours we went out of our Edinburgh equipped apartment and we went to a bar we have seen during the day – The Living Room, where the menu was excellent and the visitors could appreciate not only the beer and the cocktails but in addition the show of the bartenders. Then we went to the Standing Order Pub and finished the night there.

On the next morning, Maria and I woke up early and spent some time drinking capuccino and contemplating the people from the terrace of our Edinburgh holiday apartment. The moment we appeared to be dressed appropriately to go for a walk, we went directly to the Royal Mile in the Old Town and so we saw the Edinburgh Castle and the Holyroodhouse Palace. Maria has informed me that I should wear flat and comfortable trainers and thus I was able to deal with the cobbled roads in the old town.

We had a sandwich and a beverage in the Holyrood Park on the eastern part and then went to the Arthur’s Seat and then in the direction of the Cathedral St. Giles and the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre. After that we certainly required refreshment and Maria suggested we must have a bite and some ale on one of the bars along the Royal Mile. After the snack we had, we went for some souvenir purchasing. After that the two of us agreed, it would be better to return to our Edinburgh accommodation and have some sleep. I watched TV, whilst Maria checked out her e-mail and done a research concerning the pubs and dining establishments in the Scottish capital that were near to our holiday apartment.

Late in the mid-day we went out again and had a great lengthy walk along the Princes Street, which signifies the heart and in a way separates the Scottish main city into an Old and a New Town. On the Princes Street we discovered a few nice department stores, and noticed where the Royal Scottish Academy and the National Gallery are and made a decision to visit them on the following days.

We had a quiet dinner at Rick’s pub, that is a stylish pub in the center, serving meals and drinks. We had deep fried pizza, which we discovered is a normal local dish and then we went to bed early as we were quite worn out from the landmarks and shopping during the day.

I came in the Scottish main city in the late afternoon previous Thursday for a long weekend break and went straight away to my Edinburgh vacation residence. I was supposed to meet a friend, but her air travel was scheduled for a later hour, therefore I had free time for a bath and some relaxation opposite the TV set. When my mate finally showed up, she placed her suitcases in her room and we didn’t spent a moment but rushed outside to enjoy the city.

Before my journey I attempted to make a study about which are the best bars in Edinburgh, but was really confused. There were numerous comments and so many reviews by holiday-makers, that I made a decision we’ll visit the bars near to our holiday apartment in Edinburgh and try to follow our intuition. We paid an appointment to the Last Drop Pub, as we were intrigued by its extended history, then we had an ale at the Sandy Bell’s Pub where we listened to some traditional music.

Next we headed towards the Portobello area that was not near our holiday flat in Edinburgh but was an appealing neighborhood as we were told. We stood for 30 minutes ay the Malt and Hops Pub where the beer selection was overwhelming, then we went to the Carriers Quarters where we were offered the best beer for the night.

We were in a excellent mood and we met some new friends, who were eager to find out about our countries and home towns and we exchanged our emails to keep in contact one back at home. The time was flying and therefore Maria and me and we decided to go back to our Edinburgh lodging and get a good sleep, as we had really a lengthy plan for the next couple of days.

I woke up very early on the next morning here and I went down to a small bakery, a two-minute walk apart from the Amsterdam flat we have booked, to purchase breakfast for my two ladies. They were nicely astonished when they saw me coming with croissants and additional delicious things, still warm. We had a nice family breakfast and looked at the map for the points of interest that we have prepared to view.

I could say, me and my wife were interested in the place too and had some pleasurable time there.

That final evening in the capital of Netherlands was spend outdoors of our own Amsterdam vacation dwelling. The 3 of us went to the Rembrandt Square and next to the Leidseplein Square. The next spot we saw was the House of Anne Frank, which features various historic artefacts revealing the tale of a little lady who made a big impact on the earth. The third stop that day was at the nation’s museum of the country Rijkmuseum. We managed to get lunch at the gardens close to that museum, that are really enjoyable and inviting.

On our way back to the Amsterdam holiday flat we have booked, we entered a few souvenir stores and a number of large department shops. Anna especially loved one of the open-air marketplaces we passed by and purchased some presents.

After a brief nap in our Amsterdam holiday apartment, we were ready to go out again and Anna suggested we enjoy a quiet evening, sitting at the large terrace of one of the local cafes. There was a children playground spot, so Ellie was occupied too, as we were dining and taking pleasure in a cold glass of draught beer and some house wine.

I’ve been to holland main city several times, yet it was always on business and even though I knew the districts, I was not very aware of how charming and impressive this city is if you are with your family and loved ones. Therefore, for our 5th anniversary, I made a decision to take my better half and our little princess on a long weekend in Amsterdam.

I arranged the plane seat tickets and booked a holiday Amsterdam apartment from a web site which I found easy to navigate and easy to book. The vacation Amsterdam getaway residence that I chose was really very carefully chosen, as I required Anna and our child Ellie to be near to the primary points of interest and yet to be able to return to the apartment easily in case they need to.

When we arrived in the main city of Netherlands, we were all happy, as that was our first real family vacation, because until now Ellie was too little to take a trip with us. Thus, we settled in our Amsterdam flat, placed our luggage and were eager to go out again.

The first thing we did on that day was to start on a canal cruise, as the canals in Amsterdam are image of the city that build its romantic appeal, uncovering stunning panoramic scenery. There are a lot of canal cruises available in Amsterdam, but we decided to take a larger charter boat, where we also had the chance to dine.

That afternoon we spend in the old town and the central zone of the city, which are close to our Amsterdam apartment. The centre is compact and is pleasant to explore by walking. It features great architecture which is a fest for the eye, numerous bridges and a great deal of cafes, elegant restaurants and small parks.
